Who are the Founders
Hi there! I’m Jeff Kahan, a 52-year-old fitness fanatic, husband, and father of three amazing kids who are convinced that my workout schedule is just a fancy way to avoid doing laundry. I’ve been passionate about fitness my whole life, completing numerous triathlons and even two Ironman races—because apparently, I enjoy suffering in spandex!
In addition, research shows that exercise is the single most potent “drug” to increase lifespan and health span. So, if you see me running around the neighborhood, just know I’m not being chased by my wife—I’m just trying to live forever! This is why I’m so passionate about the Fit Quest Challenge. Together, we can hold each other accountable and transform ourselves—because who doesn’t want to feel fabulous in their spandex? Let’s embark on this journey together and prove that getting fit doesn’t have to be a serious business. After all, laughter burns calories too!
Through this journey, I’ve learned some important life lessons. For instance, discipline is crucial because relying on motivation is like relying on a dog to listen to you—it comes and goes, often when you least expect it. I’ve also discovered that the best way to improve accountability is to share your goals with others. If you don’t tell anyone you’re going to run a marathon, you can always claim you meant to just jog to the fridge!

Hi everyone! My name is Scott Navarro, and I am a 42-year-old who still acts like a college kid every once in a while. I am a husband and father to two amazing children who are active in baseball, softball and soccer. I loved being active and playing sports as a kid and picked up racquetball, softball and coaching when I became an adult. Most recently, Jeff convinced me (over a few too many bourbons) to sign up for a local triathlon.
This became one of the best decisions I made for my physical and mental health. The looming, concrete date of race day, drove me to start training “today” and not say “I’ll start next week.” Sharing my decision to race with friends and family created external expectations – fueling me to prove some people wrong and prove that I could do it to myself. Training approx. 5 days a week became enjoyable – I became proud of my progress and commitment – and it made me feel better, sleep better, eat better, work better…overall happier and more positive.
I need the Fit Quest Challenge. I need the long-term goal. I need the motivation. I need the accountability. I am excited to see how many people we can pull together for this journey; supporting each other, supporting a good cause, and improving ourselves in whatever forms of exercise we choose. Let’s do this together!
